RAZVIGOR FINGERLESS MITTS
This is a design by Eliza Chernaeva on Ravelry. Razvigor fingerless mitts. They are oh, so comfortable! Cozy and warm. Mine are made of acrylic Baby Soft, but would be even nicer in a superwash wool.
Made entirely with post stitches, except here and there for a stitch or two, and the design. I began mine with a double crochet foundation chain, but that really didn't look as grand as I had hoped. Made it easier to put on and pull off, as the foundation chain stretches nicely, but it is puffy on, and curls off. Still, with big hands and a small wrist it is a good compromise. If you use a regular chain, give it some ease.
As with all of her designs, you will enjoy making them. Her instructions as spot on, easy to read, and you just have to watch your count. Best to not only mark the first stitch of the first round, and move it up, but to make another 10 or 15 stitches down the way in case you lose count. That way you don't have to start over again. A trick I learned on a BIG afghan!
BACK TO BEANIES
I started a purple beanie in my favorite pattern before the mitts, but sorely needed a diversion after making so many in a row. Just picked it up yesterday and put in a few rows. Will plug away so hopefully I can have it ready to mail next week. Today, however, I won't get as much finished since I have a luncheon with my niece. Her 50th birthday was Tuesday and I have one more gift to give her, so figured to extend the celebration a bit.
PUZZLES
My kiddo gave me a set of puzzles last month…they are wooden and cut in really weird ways, plus there are animals or other items cut in there, too. Some of the pieces are so delicate that they have chipped before I opened the bags, but they still worked.
This is the first one!
These are the animals and still life, and below is the puzzle put together without them.
This is the finished puzzle below. The cat looks like my cat Tommy Socks, except he has greenish yellow eyes.
And the bags below.
Tommy and I are doing okay with his insulin shots and feedings. He cooperates nicely!
Happy crocheting and crafting!
