Progress...

Back to the End

I'm back to where I ended before having to rip out several/many/thousands of rows! Okay, so I exaggerate. But it seemed like it.

FLOWERS

Last year I received a some packets of seeds for my birthday (my request). These beauties are the result of that wonderful gift!

On the photo above, I think the lavender flowers are Phlox. The ones in front are Dianthus, of the Carnation family I think. There are pinks, whites, reds and all sorts of colors in-between.

I am really in love with all that beauty...on both sides of the house. There are also some Silver Dollar Plants, which are known by many names..Judas Plant for one.  The "dollars" are either green or purple now, but will be changing over soon to that silver mother-of-pearl look.

I had several Snapdragon plants on the west side of the house, and there must have been a packet of Shasta Daisies, too.

So colorful!

Never leave you 7 month old puppy alone in back when he is frustrated. He might just chew up a patio chair cushion and strew it about the yard.

There was so so much more on the deck. Made me realize just how good these cushions were from Home Depot! Stuffed to the hilt! I was getting ready to purchase more, so am not broken hearted. They lived a good life. Now I know, however, that I can rip out their innards and save the padding for some projects after I wash it all!

Said puppy was not all that upset until I called him a bad, bad puppy. Can't have that action becoming a habit!

Making a Beautiful Shawl!

I finished about 6 more rows of this beauty…all in yellow. Even started the next skein. Glorious, and I really LOVE the shawl. Even got to where the coloring is now a fav!!!

UNTIL…..I realized I was off one stitch and it was lopsided. I had to unravel all my rows until just about where this photo shows. My heart is broken!

I went ahead and started the other shawl for Camp Loopy. It is called Anniversary Lace. I posted a photo, etc., before.  I am not fond of real honey lace as a shawl … or even a blanket. This will be a gift this Christmas I believe. I'm getting a stack of items lined up. I love the designers final product but have a hard time with way she writes up designs. A pattern that could be two to three pages is 11 pages.  I am having to go back to the first page two or three times per row to figure out what she wants crocheted and how. Very frustrating. Perhaps when I get used to her way I will be okay. Part of it is my age and lack of brain power.

I am only on the sixth row, but it is moving along. Just started last night. I will do a few more rows and then return to the above shawl.

A little doggie TLC from my kids. They often look like twins.

Sunset on the Butte in the making - Frogged that other one!

Waroo is a bust, but started a new one! The above is my new one called Sunset on the Butte.

I am using the same brand of yarn I designated for the Waroo, but in a different coloration. It is now getting lighter so that it will start having a striped look.  I'm not to the really lighter purple (nearly pink) yet, but just about in a few more stitches. I am looking forward to seeing just how it works out.

I didn't want to change colors. I just wanted to keep banging on until I finished.  I did purchase another skein so I can actually make it in it's full glory!

My yarn looks more like a northern sunset rather than a southern sunset! No orange like the other shawl.

The steps out front are finished! I gave away the queen bed that was in the rec room, and they are coming to pick up a dining room set and the grill! I am trying to make room to move around where there is none!

My younger brother sent seeds for my birthday, as well as a bag of Stella de Oro Daylilies! I'm so excited!! I plan on planting them this week, and spreading the seeds, too. I'm so surprised each year at just how many Shasta Daisies and California Poppies are growing around the sides of the roads here. It seems someone must be sprinkling them each year, and of course they self seed - so it is becoming a spectacular scene all over Sequim.

Can't wait to get mine new presents planted!

Have a great evening!
