Bits of this and that

I have been into leggings lately.  Something is wrong with my brain. Could not stop at buying one or two or three. Had to go for several.  In these temps (40's to 50's) I am wearing two pair. The one on top, I turn inside out for the next day and wear a new pair on top!  Keeps me warmer and the warmer fuzzy side is against my legs!  I, of course, had to purchase several tunic tops to go along with the leggings.  I'm now behaving!

This BEAUTIFUL knitted scarf was given to me by my DSD Heidi.  I love the colors of the Caribbean waters! This is not just beautiful, but oh so comfy!

One of the puzzles my brother gave me for Christmas was this one of pencils.  I was really terrified of it, but tackled it anyway.  After a bit the solving was rather enjoyable as the pencils almost all had some sort of company info on them.  There were many with the names of Presidents on them.  Such fun packing in the info…mostly from the Eastern seaboard.  A couple from Canada.

I'm working on the next one he gave me…it's a 1,000 piece puzzle, too.  I'm about 3/4 the way through, but am not enjoying this one as much.  Not bright and cheery…darker than I like (night) even though it has a Christmas theme.
I mostly prefer Dowdle puzzles…Americana type.  There are a couple others that I like, but his are my fav. You see them in Costco all the time.

Finished scarf a long time ago! Sorry!

I hung it on the photo canvas of my granddaughters - I took it at a nearby beach.  Honestly, off hand, I don't remember what I did with it - who I gave it to - or if I have it!

This is another scarf that I started a few weeks ago.  I have since attached the ends to make it a cowl type scarf and am in the process of weaving in the ends.  I will block it (gently) and then hang in MY closet! It's just a simple chevron pattern.  I just mixed up the stripes without any rhyme or reason.

I, like so many others, was gifted an Instant Pot for Christmas.  I haven't been one to cook much for the last six years since my husband's passing, but have been using the pot.
So far I have made two roasts, some fancy chicken, steamed eggs (to hard boiled - and really this is the ONLY way to make eggs! They peal like a dream), polenta, rice, and also made shrimp. It's been a yummy experience.
Shrimp was the easiest! I didn't have the cocktail sauce, so mixed up 1 cup of catsup, a big clump of freezes dried red onion (Costco), dash or three of garlic powder, squeeze of the lime juice that comes in a plastic bottle, and a large squirt of Sriracha sauce.  Honestly, it tasted almost like what one buys! A great second!

Please note the fancy plate! LOL!

Wrist is healing! Started new simple scarf

Finally started a project I think I can finish.  It is a simply hdc (24 stitches across) and am using a Chroma fingering weight for the project. Nice yarn…love the color changes.

It is a bit larger now…the purple changed to a pink purple then back to the purple and now going to the blue…sort of reverse look.

Now THIS is the thing I really love!!!  I do not like the huge desk that was here in the house when I purchased it.  Am converting the shed in back into a room for all my crochet and sewing, so will have the desk put in there.  I bought a roll top desk that is being made special for me in Indiana by an Amish company.  I'm really excited to have something so beautiful (with matching file cabinet) with lots of storage. It will make my living are less cluttered and more beautiful!

Matching chair, too…will be in a tealish green leather.
