This is my second project in the Beginner Knit group in Ravelry. They really are pretty simple, and pretty comfy. I bought some of that liquid rubber to apply to the bottom so I can use them. After the back surgery I don't want to slip and fall!
I will finish up the square soon and post a photo of that one. I think I made a mistake on one or two rows so hope it doesn't ruin the whole look….but I'm NOT taking it out! May keep this afghan for myself, or send it on with love and the note that only God doesn't make mistakes. 💗
Boy, those are some tan-less legs!
Meet Riley. He cam from a Mastador kennel in Virginia at 11 weeks (1/2 each Lab/Old English Mastiff). He was one of 8 puppies that had been brought there from Wisconsin, so the boy is better traveled than most people. The Noah's Ark people brought him from VA to me in WA by the southern route, so he has already spent time all across the whole of the USA.
He is now the baby brother to Brodie, my Bullmastiff/Lab/Boxer/Husky mix. They told me Riley would be up to 120 pounds. Brodie is a chubby 145 pounds and slowing taking off his winter weight with this little bundle of joy not leaving him alone! I honestly thing Riley might end up larger than Brodie. 😱
A fav place for Riley has been MY chair once he figured out how to get up there. I keep a footrest on the floor for my feet since my legs are a tiny bit shorter than is comfy and hang a little. My sweet niece gave it to me for Christmas and it sure has come in handy!
A nice surprise for Winter! We had no snow until last week and then the temps dropped 20 degrees and instead of our normal rain we got 5" of snow and it has stayed, contrary to my blabbering to everyone who would listen that it would "disappear" in a day or so! To top it off, literally, we are expecting three more days of snow this weekend. The dogs will be in heaven!
Riley is now 14 weeks old and must weigh about 30 to 32 pounds. His legs seem to be getting longer more than his body. His skin is loose so I think he might end up looking a little more like the English Mastiff than the Lab, but hope not. All in all, it doesn't really matter. I love him just as he is.
He is as sweet as a dog can be, smart as a whip, knows all his commands, and only had a couple of accidents….learned the doggie door right off. Yay! He has been a great addition to our little family. Even likes the cat! He and Brodie sleep together, and with all the fun loving play going on I think Brodie is going to be svelte some day.
Just wish I was!
So sweet to see the two pups together and get the background on Riley.
