New Sweater

This pattern is another from Michele DuNaier, Pistachio Gelato.  I used a K hook and worsted weight yarn. However, I used Bernat Mosaic and it feels like a rug! Unfortunately I have a lot of this so perhaps I SHOULD make a rug!

I started another in the same pattern using a I hook, and Red Heart Baby TLC, a size 3 yarn. It’s a bit squeaky, but nice overall. I think the color I am using, Lovey, really looks good!
Here is a peek!

Not sure how small it will be, but am thinking an 18” chest.
My DSD sent a photo of her wearing the scarf I sent her. 6” wide and about 20” long folded. Malabrigo.

I made little fingerless mitts, too. Her photo is a better showing of the color. That’s my grand puppy, Chewie. He is a Leonberger, a German giant breed dog.

Enjoy a very Happy Easter!

Another little sweater

 FOR OLIVIA

I made the same sweater but in a different colorway, and long sleeved.

I LOVE this one. 💕💙

AND AGAIN…

The color doesn’t look as pretty as it is, but you can see it is more like Easter

I am using a smaller hook and a different yarn  this is Lion Brand Mandala Baby in Diagon Alley  which is a place in the Harry Potter books.  This is where all their shopping is accomplished. Not sure what this color has to do with it

I sure hope I get to see Olivia wear one of these sweaters when Letha visits this summer.

For Olivia

 A little sweater for Olivia

Olivia is the granddaughter of my friend who I rarely see. She is going on one year old.  I gave the sweater to her sister to hold until she gets here this summer for a visit. It will be too big for her, but that is okay. Better too big than too little!

The yarn is part wool, and the main is acrylic. It is super soft! It's Stylecraft Batik Swirl in Highland. Have almost enough for another sweater! Maybe a bit smaller.

The pattern is by Michele DuNaier called 2 1/2 Hour Nap.  Took me longer, but I end up getting up and down a lot while crocheting.  I think it took two days with intermittent stretches of crocheting.

This and That, books and crochet with a cup of coffee!

Scarves for Heidi and Scarves for me

After making two scarves for her, neither of which I loved, I decided to make one a bit larger in the colors she did love.  She received the green one and the purple one in good order and seemed to like them okay, but in our conversation she mentioned liking wider scarves to wrap. Personally I don't as I'm big, and big chested so it is like wearing a large rooster on my bosom! I can't see my feet anyway, but with a big scarf I can't even see where I am going! TMI

Had some yard work in back. The before, during and then the after.  When I looked out the door I could not see what the dogs were doing easily so the hedge had to basically go. It will grow back (Juniper or also known as Cedar). Smells good when you walk by all those sawed off limbs!

I made a scarf for myself. The seed stitch, one of my favorites. I like that it stays pretty flat and looks the same on both sides. This one is a bit wider than I really like.

Flowers from my sister-in-law when she found out I had to help my sweet cat, Tommy Socks, on his way to heaven. His body was just giving out and I could not put him through any more pain and aggravation. He was 15 the month before.

The scarf below is for my DSD. I wasn't as fond of the color, which doesn't photograph well.  I made some fingerless mitts (no thumbs either, which is how I like them). Real simple squares with it stitched up to leave thumb holes. The mitts are a surprised

I have taken to listening to books on Audible and on Libby. Now a friend turned me on to Chirp. Same thing as Audible, but cheaper by a little IF you stick to books under $4 or $5. Once your quota is used up on Audible, Chirp is much less expensive on MOST books.
HOWEVER!
Libby is the best for no price other than the price of a library pass. If you live in a larger city, I believe,  your choices are much better. I have already finished this coming months book club review, The Lost Kings by Tyrell Johnson.  It was okay, but the others seemed to really like those types of books. I didn't like some of the exploitation.
In my defense I have been listening to tamer books....right now I am on the Mrs. Jeffries and the Inspector series.  It's the kind you can have coffee with in the morning.
In the evening I am listening to Lynn Cahoon's books, the Tourist Trap Mystery Series. I am on Book 2. Like all those books where you have a heroine who sticks her nose in the mystery where the police don't like it (where they ALWAYS nearly get killed and still can't seem to understand why when told NOT to do something but go ahead and do it!) it runs the same story line for the most part. I sort of like them because there isn't blatant sex, lots of cussing, or blood and guts. I don't like them because the authors fail to realize that their version of the heroine makes the VERY, VERY, VERY dumb. You can certainly do that same story and have her be smart, not miss all the clues, tell the truth to her boyfriend the cop, and stay out of his way.
Lynn Cahoon has probably 20 different mystery series. I am sure they are all the same, or nearly the same. I started listening to them on Audible as the first 10 or so of this series were free. I like free since I listen to so many books instead of watching TV. That and crochet keep me busy.
Happy Thursday! Hope you are crafting and enjoying it!
