LITTLE THINGS
I have decided to focus on small items this year and to be ready for Christmas by the end of the year. As each year floats by I realize that my accomplishments need not be on a grand scale, and smaller is better for me at this time of my life. I need to be able to finish a projects a little quicker to make me feel good.
Scarves
I have already finished one scarf I gave to the other grandmother. Simple stitches make for a quick and lovely present. Ch1, SC across. Unfortunately I did not take a photo so when I asked her for one, she took it while wearing the scarf so it doesn't show it as well.
Next Scarves
I am working on a green scarf in yarn my DSD had in her stash. It is for her. This one is the simple stitches of HDC1, SC1 across. Makes a nice fabric, solid and warm
She doesn't know that I am also making her a scarf, using the SC1, CH1 across. It is also in Malabrigo, but in a size 2 yarn. Forget the name. I am about finished with the green on in Malabrigo Rios and will have photos soon. Easier taking photos and posting quickie notes if the projects are small.
Hats
I have an area set up now where I can whip out a hat a day, or ever other day, so there will be gifts for Christmas and the rest will go to the church December bazaar. They call it something else, but it is to make money for the church and some of the outreach programs.
This is a hat designed by a person on Ravelry that I made a few of years ago. It is one I really liked.
Shawls
Wish they had a comfort shawl program. I think it would be a great addition to what is needed in the community. I'm not active enough to encourage it, and don't really want to be in charge of anything which is what happens when a persons suggests something!
Toward the end of the year I will try to remember to make a rectangular one.
